I am a simple Buddhist monk in Pal Ewam Namgyal Monastic School. I start my day feeling gratitude of the precious life I have. I wake up at 4:30 am every day. After fresh-up I go to our puja hall to recite mantras and to pray. I purify my mind by exercising with positive thoughts during one and half hour of praying and reciting mantras in the morning. This morning routine of praying and feeling gratitude keeps me calm and feel blessed for the rest of my day. I take breakfast at 7 am. By 9 am I get ready for the regular school.
We have regular school from 9 am to 4 pm. I am aware that my school is specially established for poor children like me. I am grateful to my Guru (Master) Ven. Khenpo Tsewang Rinzin (founder of PENMS) for giving us this golden opportunity. Ven. Khenpo Tsewang Rinzin has proved that a great positive action of just one person can make such a big positive difference in society, I always dream to follow his path to serve the society. When I think of these all things, I feel a strong feeling of gratitude towards my Guru Ven. Khenpo Tsewang Rinzin.
After 4 pm I practice my dharma subjects till 5:30. Then I play with my friends. While playing with my friends I feel really blessed that I have such a huge group of family with whom I can share my smiles and tears. I am grateful to this beautiful life.
Till 7 pm I complete my homework and have dinner. After dinner I pray to god for the delicious meal. Actually I pray and thank before and after every meal. My self-study starts from 8 pm to 9 pm and then I sleep thinking of every opportunity I had this day and thank this life for all the opportunity.
In this way I practice gratitude every day. Practice of gratitude makes me strong and positive. This is the daily routine of my monastic school life.
